Sealing wood surfaces comes in two stages.
First:
Apply the seal coat to the wood. This is a small batch of epoxy to simply seal the pores and prevent unwanted bubbles from rising and being on display when the dood is cured.
Second:
In an attempt to prevent additional sanding, approximately 4 -10 hours, we can apply the final seal coat while the seal coat is still tacky to touch.
*** Possible scenario:
If the origianl seal coat cures and is no longer tacky to touch, you may want lightly sand the surface to help create a better bond between the two coatings of epoxy.
You can use fine grit sandpaper to accomplish this. After lightly sanding, wipe the surface down thoroughly and clean it to ensure there are no unwanted dust particles prior to applying the final flood coat.
Hope this was helpful.
