Let us show you how to make Fusion Film cabochons

Did you know? Cabochon was the default method of preparing gemstones before gemstone cutting was developed. Follow along and learn how you can make your own version.

In the video demo below, we used:

Fusion Film
Glass cabochon **Search for "cabochon" and you will find them sold on several online marketplaces and occasionally in local art stores.
UV resin
UV light

Step 1:

Cut the Fusion Film in the shape of the glass cabochon

Step 2:

Apply a coat of UV resin to the glass cabochon

Step 3:

Stick the fusion film to it while it cures

Step 4:

Apply UV light on it. This may only take 1-2 minutes depending on the strength of the UV light.

Step 5:

Seal the back with some more UV resin

Step 6:

Apply UV light again and you’re done.

Now you have your very own custom made glass cabochon made with Fusion Film and UV Epoxy Resin.
