MarineGuard 8000 contains a carefully engineered blend of UV Absorbers, Optical Brighteners (OB), and Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS)—additives commonly found in premium industrial and marine coating systems.

What are HALS?
Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) help protect epoxy by reflecting and neutralizing UV energy at a molecular level. Unlike UV absorbers alone, HALS do not absorb UV radiation, which slows degradation of the resin matrix and significantly reduces yellowing, chalking, and surface breakdown over time.

Combined with UV absorbers and optical brighteners, this system helps maintain clarity, gloss, and mechanical strength, even in high-sun and outdoor marine environments.
