Can you epoxy resin Pokemon cards? Lets find out!

Here is how you cast Pokemon cards in epoxy resin.

Please check out video demo below.

To get started, please prepare the following:

A full demo video is available below.

Step 1:

Prepare the Pokemon card by applying Modge Podge all over it.

Why? Paper is porous, pouring the resin over the card will lead to the fibers absorbing the liquid, resulting in stains and dark patches on your card. You can prevent this from happening by using a foam brush, coat your card on both sides, with 2-3 coats of Mod Podge. Allow 15 to 20 minutes drying time for each coat. Now that the card is protected, lets move to the next step.

Step 2:

Mix parts A & B of our Platinum Clear Epoxy resin. This is a 1:1 ratio epoxy resin. We mix equal parts of part A and part B here.

Slowly stir and scrape both the bottom and edges of the mixing cup for approximately 2-5 minutes, then we should be ready to move to the next step.

***Make sure there are no spots within the mixing cup that have not been scraped and mixed correctly.

Step 3:

Add the pigments into the epoxy mixture and mix well.

Step 4:

Pour the epoxy mixture into the mold, filling only half of it.

Step 5:

When the texture feels tacky on the top of the resin (after approximately 20-30 minutes), place the Pokemon card on top. Press down evenly. Let it cure for 24 hours.

Step 6:

Apply the second layer of epoxy mixture. Be sure to check occationally for micro bubbles. We can wave a small hand torch approximatley 6"-12" away from the project. The heat will release the bubbles.

With a beautiful pour, we can now cover it with a clean box to prevent bugs or dust from curing on our project.

Let it cure for another 24 hours before demolding it.

Hope this was helpful.
